First Post

In my entrepreneurial journal this week I'll be writing about a few of the things I've learned but also about some aspirations that I have for this class. In watching some of the videos it helped me to want to move forward with my goals to be an entrepreneur. Guy Kawasaki, while teaching at Stanford had some great insight into focusing on what you have a passion in and sticking to it. Not chasing hot markets.
It was also good to hear President Hinckley speak and admonish us to stand up and be the generation we're expected to be. To study and become educated and to go on and do important things.
The founder of Linked-In and personal branding was exciting as it encouraged me to think about what I have to offer and what I can do to further my value to people. By doing this, I'm able to get access to more people and then have more customers.
Overall, I'm most excited about building a foundation to my entrepreneurial journey. By focusing my dream into a vision and then working it into goals, I'm looking to hone my ideas in to a great idea. I'm looking forward to the studies and experience I'll get to learn from as I make my way through this coarse.

Second Post

Through out this past week I took some time to think about what I would do if I knew my life would be cut short. Have I accomplished what I wanted to? Do I have any dreams that will go unfulfilled because I didn't pursue them sufficiently?

Looking back on when I was a kid, of course I had dreams. I'm not sure I have one though that sticks out as something that would be realistic to follow. Don't get me wrong, I had many dreams. They were usually tied to the stage I was in. In high school they revolved around sports and being the best I could be. Then, as I went to college, it turned to personal improvement and individual sports. If I were to sit down now and dream, it would relate to the stage of life that I'm in now and how I can be great at what I do.

I suppose it's not a bad thing to dream in the moment. I do believe that dreams are important. It allows you to see what you value most and what you would like to see in the future. Dreams lead to a vision which can be broken down into goals to be achieved. It also allows you to have fun and be optimistic. To dream is always positive.

Something that I wanted to do as a child was to grow up and be like my dad. Not to do what he does, which is what I do now, but to own and run a business and run my life accordingly. As time has gone on I've come back to the farm and have a chance at doing that very thing. I didn't see myself being a farmer five years ago. I tend to take challenges on when they come and do my best when those challenges come.

Five years from now, "The whole world could end". It's a phrase that my dad use's since life changes so quickly. In that time I hope to find myself in an ownership position and working on building a business and pursuing a new challenge.
